Chester County Gunman Facing Decades Behind Bars For Drug Deal Gone Wrong Turned Shooting

A 26-year-old Chester County man is facing decades behind bars for shooting a man over having improper funds for a 2018 drug deal, authorities said.

Anthony C. Brown Jr., 26, of Coatesville, was sentenced to nine to 22 years in state prison after pleading guilty to aggravated assault, person not to possess a firearm, and related charges, according to the Chester County District Attorney's Office.

He was convicted for shooting a 39-year old victim in the leg after the victim gave Brown an EBT card for $200 worth of cocaine that had no funds, in June 2018, authorities said.

The victim was left with injuries that made him paraplegic, authorities said.

The case was investigated by the Coatesville Police Department and Chester County detectives. The prosecutor for the case was Assistant District Attorney Daniel Hollander.
